The venture has been established to train aspiring students on vocational skills that will help them get ready for the industry, and eliminate the gap existent in their employability quotient. GTT has successfully rolled out its thought leadership & blended learning model in 15 states across India. The entire learning platform is guided by an assessment tool which assists students in choosing their career path by discovering their inherent attributes in addition to finding their domain proficiency.
GTT is working with over 900 colleges across 15 states and has plans to train more than 450,000 students and make them employable over the next five years.

She has over 25 years experience in IT, BPO, Media and Education sectors. Her last assignment before setting up GTT was Global Head for Strategy and Business Development for HSBC Global Resourcing. The business employed 35,000 people across 15 centres in 5 countries. Prior to this, she was the CEO of Zee Interactive Learning Systems and was the Head of Education at Aptech and NIIT responsible for setting up a network of learning centres both in India and at international locations. Her book entitled 'Unleashing the Knowledge Force' has been published by McGraw Hill Publications. Uma has done her MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies and her PhD from IIT Bombay.
