Vivek Madappa
Chief Executive Officer

Vivek Madappa is a co-founder of HummingBird Suites Pvt Ltd, the largest Corporate Stay Solutions company in India . Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Vivek has nearly 15 years of experience working with leading corporates like ICI, Marico, SmithKline Beecham, Wipro and Tata Tetley in their marketing function.

With a keen interest in Brand Building , Vivek's corporate experiences were largely in New Product launches and turning around Brands. Some of the successful brands that were handled by him include Saffola, Iodex, netKracker (Wipro) and Tetley Tea.

It was during his stint with TATA Tetley that Vivek had a compelling desire to become an entrepreneur and create a national brand by himself without the safety net of a large organization. He spent some time to access the financial & business ecosystem before setting his sights on the need gap for smart Corporate Stay Solutions.

Teaming with his brother Vinod Thimmaya, the duo established HummingBird Suites with an initial investment of just Rs.3 lacs. In three years since, Vivek's brand building acumen has seen HummingBird emerge as the leader in the Corporate Stay solutions for large organizations.

Vivek has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Govt College of Technology, Coimbatore and an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.

He is happily married to Preethi, a HR professional with Intel and has a 9 year daughter whom he dotes upon. Vivek's other interests include photography and he is currently training for a half marathon. He is a CAMS Star1 certified diver as well.

Vinod Thimmaya
Director

Vinod Thimmaya is a co-founder of HummingBird Suites Pvt. Ltd and has over 19 years of experience in the areas of Sales & Marketing. He ventured into entrepreneurship when Standard Chartered Bank started its DSA operations in India and went on to become the one of the largest DSAs in India for them. His company was rated the best managed company amongst the SCB franchisee. In addition, his company was a franchisee for a number of large names like HDFC Bank, Thomas Cook, AVECO, Metlife, & TATA Indicom.

His specialty lies in consultative selling, negotiations, training and strategic alliances.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Vinod worked in Countrywide (a GE Company) in business development and with Modi Xerox in the sales function; where, he has to his credit the achievement of being a member of their top performers club for 6 consecutive years.

Vinod has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore and an MBA in Marketing from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management, Mumbai.

On the personal side, Vinod is happily married with 2 sons and looks forward to spending quality time with his family. His interests include reading, swimming & travellng. Vinod was a state level badminton player & also represented the Bangalore University in badminton.
